Chevrolet unveiled the upcoming 2014 Corvette’s engine today. Details include:

6.2-liter V-8
anticipated 26 mpg city rating
450 horsepower at 6,000 rpm
450 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm
retains the OHV and cam-in-block configuration of previous small-block engines
supposed to be one of the most fuel-efficient engines ever
feature Active Fuel Management, GM’s moniker for cylinder deactivation, which shuts down 4 of the cylinders, leaving the it with a 3.1-liter V-4 engine in that state
11.5-to-1 compression ratio
direct-injection system within the engine
